Cookie Policy

Last updated: 8 August 2026

Operator note (delete before launch): keep this list in step with what the site actually sets. The Data (Use and Access) Act 2025 extended PECR beyond cookies to all storage and access technologies — local storage, pixels, fingerprinting, tag scripts — so anything non-essential you add later must be added to a consent category, not fired on load.

This page explains the cookies and similar storage technologies used on tugofwar.day and how you control them. For the wider picture of how we handle your data, see our Privacy Policy.

1. What we use, and your control

We group storage into categories. Strictly necessary items are always on because the site cannot work without them and the law does not require consent for them. Everything else is off until you switch it on — nothing non-essential is loaded before you consent.

Analytics — [off by default; needs your consent]

We do not currently run analytics. If we add it, it will sit in this category and only load if you opt in. Analytics almost always requires opt-in consent, even privacy-friendly tools.

Marketing / personalisation — off by default; needs your consent

We do not currently run advertising or personalisation cookies. If that changes, they will appear here and load only with your consent.

2. Changing your mind

You can change or withdraw your consent at any time — it is as easy to reject as to accept. Use the Cookie settings link (also in the footer of every page) to reopen your preferences. You can also clear cookies and site storage in your browser settings.

3. What we record

When you make a choice we store the time, the categories you accepted or rejected, and the version of this policy, so we have a record of your consent. This record lives in your browser (tug_consent)[ and, once implemented, an audit log on our server].
